Case study

2023
Villa Collective came to us with a project that had stalled badly under their previous developers. We reviewed what was there, agreed the front end had to be rebuilt properly, and got on with it. Getting them back to a working site and a working back end took months and a lot of back and forth. Some of it was hard going. We got there.

The brief
Villa Collective have built a serious client base on the quality of their properties and the service around them. The site had to do two things: show the properties properly, and take somebody through to an enquiry without getting in the way. Behind it, the business needed a back end that could actually run the operation.

The build
We started with a review of the existing code and assets. The call was a fresh front end. WordPress got them live and carried the site for close to two years, which was the right answer at the time.

About us
The system
They had a basic system holding the villa information. While the front end was in progress we repaired and adapted it as we went, so nothing stopped. It ended up administering quotes, enquiries, availability and the property data for every villa on the books.
A full rebuild is under way now, moving off WordPress onto something built for the job. The gain is speed. Somebody filtering for what is free in Paxos should get an answer straight away rather than wait for a page to think about it. Reservations now sit with a specialist developer better suited to that piece, and we work alongside them on it.

The client
“We couldn't be happier with the website that Ben and the team at Mojo built.”
“They guided us patiently through each step on what was a challenging piece of work. The team understood our vision from the start and delivered a great product. Highly recommend.”

Next
Villa Collective launched, enquiries went up, and we're still on it. Content, new villas, and now a full rebuild spread across four or five months rather than dropped in one go. We handle the content and the day to day as well as the code, which is rather more than a retainer. Not a project that goes quiet for two years afterwards. One that keeps moving.
